Bernard Urban · Founder
Bernard Urban brings together four perspectives rarely found in one advisor: a creative background in advertising, media, and publishing, expertise in finance, experience as an operator and the independent judgment of a consultant.
An advertising foundation shaped by ideas, audiences, brands and the value of distinctive work.
Expertise in capital structures, strategic credit, complex transactions and special situations.
A practical understanding of what it takes to manage stakeholders, make decisions and deliver.
Independent perspective, senior attention and the ability to move across functions without losing the objective.
A rare combination
Many advisors approach a business from one discipline. Bernard’s career has been built across several. His background as an advertising creative informs an understanding of ideas, cultural relevance and how brands create value. His finance expertise brings rigor to capital, valuation, transaction structure and risk. His experience as an operator keeps the work grounded in what can actually be executed.
The integrated BCSI practice reflects that experience. Capital Raising, Corporate Development and Content Development are not separate capabilities assembled for breadth; they are three dimensions of how Bernard evaluates, structures and executes an opportunity.
That combination allows Bernard to move comfortably between creators and bankers, management teams and investors, brands and publishers. It is particularly valuable in media, advertising, technology and entertainment, where commercial strategy, intellectual property, talent, capital and execution frequently converge.
Through BCSI, Bernard acts as a senior-led strategic resource. Depending on the engagement, he may advise a company through a complex financing, lead a corporate-development initiative, structure an exclusive content transaction or serve as an executive producer responsible for aligning stakeholders and moving a project to completion.
Bernard has been sought for commentary on advertising, media, creator marketing, M&A and finance by publications and platforms including Business Insider, The New York Times, Digiday, Adweek, ABF Journal and the AdTechGod Podcast.
“The advantage is the ability to see the creative opportunity, understand the capital and remain accountable for execution.”
